Biologist Travis Folk to Speak at Verdier House

Lowcountry biologist Travis Folk will return to the Verdier House Dinner & a Lecture Series with a program on the landscape of conservation, management and appreciation of the rural lowcountry. The lecture is set for Monday, February 24, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. at 801 Bay Street, the John Mark Verdier House.

Lowcountry Speakers Series Off to Great Start

Last month, LowcountrySpeaker Series, in partnership with the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, successfully kicked off its inaugural season by hosting the 66th Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (2005-2009). Nearly 1,000 community members attended the lecture, which was hostedin a live, face-to-face forum at the Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa.

The Pat Conroy Literary Center will hold its fourth annual March Forth day of learning on Sunday, March 1st, at the Frissell Community House at Penn Center on St. Helena Island, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Commemorating the anniversary of Pat Conroy’s death, March Forth is a day-long embrace of nature, education, and fellowship among writers and readers in the heart of Conroy’s beloved lowcountry, honoring the author’s last act as a teacher—his burial site on St. Helena Island.
